Welcome to the moms school podcast by Mama Simpatico. This is where I teach busy, stressed, and struggling moms, like you, the skills for joy, coping, resilience, and happiness in mom life.
I am Lacie Newton. I'm your host and creator behind the offerings from Mama Simpatico. I'm an educator and a certified mindfulness teacher, but most of all, I am a mom of two who learned the most valuable skills in life after beginning my momlife journey.
Mom life is hard for many reasons.
And still, I believe that joy and happiness as a mom is an option. And it is a result of integrating specific skills and realistic practices into the way we go about our days and doing what we do. Through this podcast you'll learn how to realistically apply specific researched based tools curated from the fields of mindfulness, positive psychology, and wisdom traditions to your life as a mom.
When I am happier, it ripples out to you. When you are happier it ripples out to me. And when us moms are happier, it will ripple out to our families and the next generation. This is concept has actually scientific backing and is known as Social Contagion Theory.
So, I want to teach you these skills and help raise the tide of happiness for all of us.
I also created this podcast because I learned these skills after becoming a mom, basically out of sheer determination and desperation. I didn't know what else to do after I had tried everything. I turned to mindfulness. I had tried so many other things. And nothing was giving me this sense that I knew what to do in the moment when I needed help. And, this did.
Mindfulness did. These practices did and still help me in not only difficult moments, but when I'm making decisions, and experiencing the good moment too.
The skills and practices I'll be sharing in this podcast helped me go from struggling and into a life that feels joyful, manageable, and fulfilling. I want this for you too.
