This is the first in a series of four episodes where we discuss how mindfulness can be a remedy for common challenges in mom life.
We discussed the concept of spiritual bypassing and the idea that sometimes “Things are basically ok, and they could also be better.”
For our purposes, remedy is not meant as a way to fix an uncomfortable emotion like its a problem within ourselves, but to make adjustments in our inner and outer worlds to make them both places we want to spend our time and we can use mindfulness to get us there.
We examined the beginning of the Scientist and the Flight story and drew parallels to beginning to approach a tricky emotional experience.
We talked about the value of noticing the full spectrum of life’s emotional experiences, the comfortable and the uncomfortable.
